Dr. Berg answers the question – will lemon water kick you out of ketosis. Lemon juice, even at 1 ounce will give you only 2 grams of sugar, and this is so low, that it will only cause a temporary dip or drop in ketosis. The benefit of lemon water is to counter both uric acid and oxalates preventing kidney stones. Lemons only if free will provide some vitamin C, but not it is bottled because the pasteurization effect destroys vitamin C.
